  • Efes Beverage Group rapidly expands in Europe and enters Serbia

    Efes Breweries International N.V. (“EBI”), the Holland based subsidiary of the Efes Beverage Group conducting the Group’s international beer operations, has acquired the majority shares of the Pancevo Brewery (“Pancevo”) in Serbia, located on the outskirts of Belgrade. Therefore EBI has added Serbia in its portfolio of European markets currently comprising of Russia, Ukraine, Romania, and Moldova. The total number of markets that EBI operates, thus, has increased to 6, including Kazakhstan, one of the major markets in Central Asia.
  • Moscow Efes Brewery acquired the Amstar Brewery

    Moscow Efes Brewery (“MEB”), the subsidiary of Efes Breweries International N.V. (“EBI”) in Russia, has acquired 100% of the Amstar Brewery (“Amstar”) located in Ufa, in the Urals region of Russia through a partial share purchase and a share swap. Amstar is a modern brewery with an annual capacity of 1.2 million hectoliters. The brewery produces and markets 2 dynamic brands; “Sokol” in the local premium segment which is also Russia’s leading non-alcoholic beer and “Beliy Medved” targeted at the mainstream segment.

    Efes Beverage Group Rapidly Expands In Europe “Efes Beverage Group Becomes The Leader Of The Moldovan Beer Market” Efes Breweries International B.V., the Holland based subsidiary of the Efes Beverage Group conducting the Group’s international beer operations, has obtained the necessary approvals from the Moldovan authorities to acquire the Vitanta Intravest S.A. brewery located in Chisinau, through a tender offer. Western NIS Enterprise Fund (“WNISEF”), currently the major shareholder of Vitanta Intravest S.A. with an 86% share, has today announced its decision to sell its shares to Efes Beverage Group in a press conference held in Chisinau.
